Hello! My name is Jane, I’m 22 and an over-thinker who loves to write. I’m originally from Birmingham but moved to Manchester for university when I was 18. I now live in Bolton with my boyfriend… we moved into our lovely flat last August. I’m a cat lady, bookworm, social history nerd and self-confessed Asos addict.

By day, I’m the social media manager at sochal, a startup company developing a innovative app focusing on health, fitness and wellbeing. I write a blog for Sochal, you can read it here. I also write on a freelance basis, feel free to contact me if you’d like me to write for you.

My surname is Newby and Ruby Newby is one of the many nicknames I have been given over the years… I think it’s catchy! I have been blogging on and off since I was 16 under different pen names. This new space is where I get to indulge my personal interests and opinions (and hope that somebody else out there will find them interesting too!). I will be blogging about all sorts… social history, university, lifestyle, writing, books, fashion, stationery and planning… I hope you like it. (I also have a YouTube channel, check it out here.)
